day 3

breakfast- Quaker brown sugar oatmeal squares.

lunch- oooo this felt more like dessert... as every meal should! Last week during a trip to meijer greg and i came across Peanut Butter & Co. Dark Chocolate Dreams (peanut butter blended with rich dark chocolate). This was my first time eating it and wooooweeee it's FANTASTIC!!!

dinner- comforting chicken and dumplings, half of a grilled english muffin with turkey and cheese, salad, 2 strawberries and a sugar free jello.

snacks- this morning i snagged a tiny bite of greg's english muffin sandwich (he laughed when i photographed it... but hey, i'm tracking every single morsel!), a fiber one bar, watermelon, a WW cookies n cream bar, edamame, another serving of watermelon, a strawberry fruit leather, apple slices (we got them for snack at kindergarten!), salad, 2 bars of chocolate from trader joes, and an Edy's grape fruit bar.

day 2

today i felt pressure to switch up my menu a little bit, as i tend to eat the same couple things, but i didn't want to be so boring in my pictures! hehe

starting the day off, i had to go with the breakfast of champions again, chocolate shredded mini wheats.

lunch- a chicken sausage on a light white bun with a tablespoon of ketchup and a serving of pita chips.

dinner- superb-y herby sauce-exposed pizzas. a delicious recipe from the new Hungry Girl cookbook!

snacks- a fiber one bar, watermelon, salad, strawberries, edamame ( this picture featuring Hungry because my stomach was starting to rumble mid-day and although there were a few other snacks i had in mind i decided to make the better choice and go with the edamame since it is packed with protein and fiber ).. then after dinner i had a buttload of points left (poor planning) so i indulged in chocolate covered raisins, a WW cookies and cream bar and an Edy's strawberry fruit bar. yumm!!

getting back on the bandwagon is taking some getting used to as i need to adjust my points better throughout the day. but, so far so good.

ps--- chocolate should be it's own meal!

photo food journal- day 1

day one was successful. I stayed on track, and only used one of my flex points (on accident! i miscalculated!).

for breakfast i enjoyed a serving of chocolate shredded mini wheats... my fav!

for lunch i gobbled up a turkey sandwich with a slice of cream harvarti cheese on wheat bread, with a serving of strawberries

for dinner I made a chicken wrap with a chicken tender, lettuce, half a serving of cheese, 2 teaspoons of fat free ranch in a latortilla factory tortilla.

as far as inbetween my 3 main meals, these were my snacks of the day... a fiber one bar, a salad, a serving of watermelon, tortilla chips and salsa, a cookies n cream weight watchers ice cream bar, a healthy choice fudgsicle and an Edy's lemonade fruit bar. ( i should start making a bridge with all these sticks! haha )

after lunch i took advantage of our day off and drove my bike to downtown plymouth for my first outdoor ride of the season. I only ended up riding for 6 miles, but i was on some gnarly hills and the wind was kickin too. it felt great to be outside and not sitting on a stationary bike in the gym... and maaan did it smell better.

now it is time for sleepland!!

i want to throw up

man, I feel so effin sick to my stomach right now. Tonight I decided on a "last night binge" of sorts as tomorrow when I wake up I'm attempting a fresh start at a healthy lifestyle. My fella, our roommate and I got TGIFridays and then capped it off with coldstone creamery for dessert. I just finished my last bites of the coldstone about 35 minutes ago and I can't tell you how ridiculously awful I feel. AWEFUL. This was sooo not worth it. And man oh man if I could just bottle up this feeling, I would be one skinny bitch. How genius would that be? Seriously... think about it. like, the spray bottles we use to spray water on our kitties when they jump on the counter, or when our dogs are on the couch?? if we could just spray this gross awful stomach turning bloated regret-filled feeling in our faces whenever we are feeling like a binge, and then all of a sudden remember this without having to go through the process of eating to get to that point?! ohhhhh man....... but let’s face it, I’ll wake up feeling fine in the morning and within days be craving what I can’t have again. Then again I shouldn’t say "cant"... rather I "shouldn’t" have, as it's all about making better choices.

Over the years I’ve been a weight yoyo. I’ve gained. I’ve lost. I’ve found again. repeat multiple times. tomorrow is going to be my next stab at a healthier lifestyle.

My project for the next week is to not only journal everything I eat, but to take photos of each meal so that at the end of the day, and the end of the week I can look back and truly see everything i'm eating. it’s going to be challenging and a little sobering but I’m anxious to get it going.

and tomorrow marks the back to the gym routine for me as well. I was going 5-6 days a week for a solid month and a half before vacation... but then we were gone 2 weeks on vacation and then the 2 weeks since we have been back I’ve been trying to get back into the swing of real life again.

but. tomorrow. there are no more excuses.

on New Year ’s Eve this year I was in toledo with my best friends... and after the ball dropped I made a promise to myself.... and that promise was to compete in a triathlon this year. I’m not exactly positive when in my mind I began getting interested in them, but after reading the book Slow, Fat Triathlete last summer the fire was light inside me.

so, although I’ve had a minor slip, I’m ready to get back on the ball. and I’m excited to wake up in the morning with a refreshed, renewed sense of self... and get back into that gym as if we were never apart. I know the food is going to be a challenge for me, but let’s face it... I proved to myself that if I don't hold myself accountable by keeping food journals, then I let my sweet tooth run away with my dreams of a skinnier, healthier, happier me.

7 weeks and 2 days until the Triceratops Triathlon.

Bring it.
